The pandemic brought online psychology to the fore, not just because it was impossible to participate in the vis-à-vis but also because of the loneliness, boredom, stress, and anxiety caused by the pandemic. However, just as working from home has remained the norm for many of us, the efficiency, quality, and convenience of video-calling a psychologist has cemented online psychology as an excellent and immediate channel for conversation and treatment.
MeHelp.com.au have been working with The Product Agency for nearly six months and we have come to rely on The Product Agency for co-creation of digital strategy, digital marketing and search engine optimisation. The challenge
MeHelp believes that ‘everyone has a story’ and that, through action and conversation, everyone can make that story great.
The challenge for MeHelp was telling that story in a crowded and growing Australian industry of online psychology. It wasn’t just important to stand out but to be positive and show that talking is a great thing.
Therefore, developing a visual style, narrative and user experience that reinforced this positivity was the brief.
The goals at hand were a rebrand, the development of a new MVP, and the migration from the previous MeHelp website while preserving previous investments in SEO.
The approach
A period of research and marketing experimentation commenced: understanding what worked and resonated with clients whilst also understanding the competitive landscape and where MeHelp should position its service.
Automated matching of clients and professionals is the norm in the online psychology industry, though psychology is surely much more intimate than this. Talking to someone about your feelings and story can be a big step, and being matched by AI and algorithms will never compete with being matched by a professional to a professional.
And that was MeHelp’s point of difference.
Starting there, a rebrand was undertaken to modernise and elevate the MeHelp brand in line with its message of positivity and everyone having a story.
New artwork showing MeHelp in the lives of ordinary Australians was developed.
A new, lean framework was developed to support the MeHelp website with full integration with the HubSpot CRM. The new website was rewritten from the ground up, optimised and launched, with an onus on featuring insights from MeHelp’s professionals.
The MVP is just the beginning. Building MeHelp into a leading player in Australian online psychology is the long-term play.
